Advancing Antibiotic Discovery with Bacterial Cytological Profiling: A High-Throughput Solution to Antimicrobial Resistance

  01 February 2025

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health threat, causing 5 million deaths annually. Developing new antibiotics is costly and time-consuming. Bacterial cytological profiling (BCP) is a rapid, scalable, and cost-effective method for identifying antibiotic mechanisms. BCP has proven its potential in drug discovery, identifying cellular targets against pathogens. Recent artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques could enhance BCP analysis, potentially advancing antibiotic resistance mechanisms and drug discovery.
